Other Areas

The Seattle Foundation represents the interests of many different donors. The Foundation’s giving priorities generally fall into the seven elements of a Healthy Community: basic needs, health & wellness, education, economy, arts & culture, neighborhoods & communities and environment. Given our diverse donor base and the breadth of need, our funding is even broader.

Below are some specific areas that we do fund, that may not be clear given our seven categories:

Nonprofit capacity building: Capacity building is critical to the health of all nonprofits. Whether you provide technical assistance or provide consulting on topics such as fundraising, board development or strategic planning, or build the capacity of organizations to improve or expand their services and operations, The Seattle Foundation will consider an application.

Collaborative or community-wide initiatives: Working across funding categories and in coalition with others is valued and funded by the Foundation.
