The Seattle Foundation's 28-member Board of Trustees is responsible for managing the Foundation’s assets, developing new funds and making grants to the organizations that the Foundation and its donors support. The board has a proud history of directing funds to organizations whose work aligns with the intent of our donors.

Bill Lewis is President and CEO of Lease Crutcher Lewis, a Seattle construction firm with very deep roots in the community, as a builder and a strong corporate citizen. In addition to serving as board chair for The Seattle Foundation, Bill is also past chairman of the Downtown Seattle Association and the Woodland Park Zoological Society, and past corporate chair of Seattle's American Heart Walk. An honors graduate of Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Bill also earned a master's and Honors Fellowship in civil engineering and construction management from Stanford University.
Bob Watt retired as Vice President of State and Local Government Relations and Global Corporate Citizenship for the Boeing Company in December of 2007. Prior to coming to Boeing, Bob served as President and CEO of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, as Deputy Mayor of the City of Seattle and as the CEO of both Family Services and Youth Eastside Services. Bob is currently on the Boards of The Seattle Foundation, Thrive by Five and Business Partners for Early Learning, he has served as the Chair of the Partners Group of the White Center Making Connections Project and as Chair of the Board of the Children’s Alliance, The Seattle Alliance For Education, Group Health Community Foundation and SEAFAIR.
Bob volunteers as an auctioneer for many charitable organizations and is a community activist on behalf of early learning issues. He is a member of Seattle Rotary and serves on the board of the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation. Bob received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon and a Teacher's Certificate in special education from Western Washington University.
Maggie Walker is president of the ARCS Foundation Seattle Chapter and board vice president of the Museum of History and Industry. She also currently serves as board chair of the Bullitt Foundation, co-chair of the Prosperity Partnership’s Cultural Task Force and is a board member of the Seattle Art Museum.
A strong advocate of the environment, education and the arts, Maggie has led the boards of the Henry Art Gallery, the Woodland Park Zoological Society and the Washington Women’s Foundation. In addition, she is a past board vice president of Washington Audubon and Seattle Children’s Home. Maggie is co-founder of Social Venture Partners, chaired Art Fair Seattle for five years and headed up Campaign UW for the College of Arts and Sciences. Maggie attended Vanderbilt University and University of Washington where she earned degrees in both history and journalism.
Susan G. Duffy is a partner in the Seattle office of Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP. Ms. Duffy is a member of the firm’s tax-exempt organizations, health care and corporate law practice groups; is past president of the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys and past chair of the Washington State Bar Association Tax Section. Ms. Duffy's legal practice involves representation of a wide range of tax-exempt organizations including healthcare systems, educational organizations and foundations. She has extensive experience with a variety of business planning and regulatory matters, including formation and operation of tax-exempt entities, governance matters, mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructures, tax-exempt financing and tax planning and analysis.
A frequent speaker and author on a variety of topics related to exempt organizations, Ms. Duffy is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Exempt Organizations Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tax Section. Ms. Duffy received her JD with honors from the University of Washington School of Law, where she was a member of the Washington Law Review.
Rick Fox has more than 30 years of financial and operational experience. He is currently an independent consultant and board member serving entrepreneurs and financial service companies. Rick spent 28 years with Ernst & Young, last serving as managing partner of the Seattle office.
Rick is a member of the board of visitors of the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of Premera, a Blue Cross managed-care company, aQuantive, an Internet marketing company and Flow International, a machine tool manufacturer. Rick completed undergraduate studies at Ohio University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration in 1969 and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He is a certified public accountant (Washington state).
Stewart M. Landefeld is a partner in the Seattle office, and chair of the National Business Practice Group, of Perkins Coie, LLP. His practice emphasizes corporate governance and boards of directors, mergers and acquisitions and securities law matters. He is the co-author of books and articles on governance and corporate law. In addition to his service on The Seattle Foundation board, Stewart’s civic activities have included service on the boards of the Henry Art Gallery, Gallery Concerts, Pike Place Market Preservation & Development Authority, the Yale Development Board, the Seattle Symphony Foundation and other nonprofits.
